Topaz DeNoise AI 3.1.2 disappointed review
I would like to write a review on Topaz DeNoise AI 3.1.2, the latest version of the company DeNoise software which I think it is useful for modern digital photo editing.
Before my review, I must say I like the result of Topaz DeNoise AI, because the software simply help me to make a clear, sharper picture and reduce some of the high iso noise from Sony sensor. I personally recommend this software everyone, although it had something need to be improve.
Indeed I had upgrade from Topaz DeNoise AI 2.x version, after I upgrade, I am not happy with it. Here is the reason behind.
-Longer Preview Time
-Longer Processing Time
-not much better image quality as compare with Topaz DeNoise AI 2.x version
-Severe Noise processing function is useless.
Slow
First of All, my Mac is an intel Mac, I don’t know benefit from the M1 mac. But I still expect the pay upgrade version should be slightly faster or even worse , it keep the same speed with Topaz DeNoise AI 2.x version, but I am disappointed.
The latest version Topaz DeNoise AI 3.1.2 run obvious slower than my Topaz DeNoise AI 2.x version, in both preview and processing the file. For Example , a 38 megapixels file preview time need over 10 second, and Processing time over 1 mins and 40seconds as the opaz DeNoise AI 2.x is just 6 seconds in preview and 47 seconds in processing.
Not much better image quality as compare with Topaz DeNoise AI 2.x version
Even the software itself provide a feedback function say it is not sharp enough.
Severe Noise processing function is useless
I think no one now a day will use ISO 100000 to shoot , the function just suitable for smart phone under low night conditions, I never use it. It just make all the details gone because of heavy noise. If I need this functions, why don’t I just use Photoshop Denise filter ?
Another problem for the software is lack of support online , the interface of Topaz DeNoise AI 3.1.2 web site and support section is not user friendly , and even the installer is a very PC feel , it download a lot of file when you are installing the program, why don’t Topaz consider write the install in a full package?
If you are using the old version , I think you need not to upgrade , and waste your money.
